This Electronic Instrument whenplaced In the air flow to be measuredwill directly read the air velocity to andaccuracy of :I: 2%. The instrumentconsists of a sensing head and an Indicator unit. The use of micro circuit has made the unitremarkably compact. The special designed vane pivoted onjewels makes it extremely sensitive to air flow. Velocitymeasurement range is 0.25 meter per second to 15 metersper second. The head incorporates a rotating vane type non optical nomagnetic and non contact transducer which is uneffected byvibrations, dusts, temperatures or humidity. This transducergenerates electrical signals having a frequency directlyproportional to the rate of air flow through the head. Thesesignals are then converted to a direct current, which drivesan indicating meter calibrated in terms of flow rates in metersper second. The instrument will be very useful wherevermonitoring of air flow is required I.e. mines, centralized airconditioning systems, tubes railways, synthetic fibre plants,tobacco plants, tea gardens, metrological laboratories etc fortesting the rate of air flow
